Действие фильма разворачивается во время наполеоновских войн. Военный парусник Ее Величества «Сюрприз», бороздящий просторы Атлантики, был неожиданно атакован огромным неизвестным кораблем, появившимся из тумана. Благодаря смелости и находчивости команды «Сюрпризу» удается уйти от смерти.
